The NLP At Work Conference

What is it?
A one day NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) Conference presented by evolution personal and corporate development Ltd at the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth on Friday 30th March 2012. The Conference will focus on the Business Applications of NLP.
For What Purpose?
Over the fifteen years we have been delivering NLP Business courses we have noticed a shift in people's understanding of NLP.
In the early days, if anyone had heard of NLP they were often sceptical and we even heard it called 'West Coast Psychobabble' on many occasions.
More recently, we find that many more people are aware of NLP. They have perhaps seen Derren Brown using some NLP techniques in his shows and TV programmes, and Paul McKenna with his 'I Can Make You Thin' TVshow.
Magazines and Newspapers often have NLP related articles in them when dealing with personal change and development issues (especially around the New Year).
Talking to people about NLP, I now find that they are much more aware of NLP in a personal development sense, but less aware of NLP in a Business Sense.
NLP is much more than phobia cures and personal development though (although these are really useful areas).
NLP tools, techniques and philosophies can really help in a Business context and we wanted to introduce NLP to a Business Audience to show exactly how it can help in a wide range of organisations.
How Will The Conference Do This?
We have collected a number of Presenters from a wide range of business backgrounds to tell their story.
They will explain how they use NLP day to day in their work roles and how this has helped them improve their performance at work, and in their life generally.
There will be chance to talk to these Presenters individually as well during the day to ask questions and develop your understanding.
Who Are They? And Where Do They Work?
Andy McMinn is Head Of Procurement And Logistics at the Plymouth Hospitals Trust. He has a background in Manufacturing and will be talking about NLP in Procurement generally, and how it helps in a large organisation like the NHS.
Fiona Crump is a Director of Evolution and a certified NLP Coach and Master Practitioner. She will be talking about how NLP can help you with your work/life balance.
Nik Green is a Trainer and Coach who often works with school groups in an outdoor education environment. He will be talking about NLP in education generally and specifically about using NLP in this environment with, often, groups who display challenging behaviour.
Matthew Theobald is a professional Project Manager who has delivered large projects across Europe. He will be talking about how to use NLP in Project Management and about how he has developed a radical new NLP based approach to Project Management.
Neil Trigger is an international speaker on marketing and persuasion engineering who specialises in conversion and gaining rapport through written text. He has developed software which can mirror linguistic patterns and has seen increases in turnover of over 900% as a result! He will be talking about reading theory and how models of NLP can be used to improve sales by using matching & mirroring, anchoring and gaining rapport via the internet.
Martin Crump is a Director of Evolution and an NLP Master Trainer. He has been delivering NLP training for businesses for 15 years. He will be introducing the day and giving an overview of NLP in a business context.

How NLP can Help At Work

NLP Tools, techniques and philosophies can help in all business activities. As you can see from the diagram, I tried to create a matrix with some of the key business activities and some of the key NLP tools/techniques to demonstrate where they can help - but there are very few tools/techniques that can't be applied in just about every activity.
